Cause: Food Security

Vetted by: Rizq

In the aftermath of the 2022 floods affecting 33 million people in Pakistan, rural areas faced extensive losses, disrupting lives and livelihoods. Recognizing the urgent need for agricultural support in these vulnerable communities, GroRizq embarked on an initiative to provide sustainable solutions. Through increased input access, regenerative farming practices, cost reduction, knowledge empowerment, and market connectivity, GroRizq is driving a transformative grassroots movement to uplift Pakistan’s agricultural sector and secure the long-term sustenance of affected communities.

At GroRizq, we envision a completely transformed food value-chain for Pakistan: where small farmers are empowered decision-makers and self-sufficient participants within the agri-economy. Despite primarily being an agrarian economy, Pakistan’s agricultural landscape is languishing at an increasing pace.

GroRizq empowers small farmers by providing essential inputs at zero upfront cost, supplemented by training and advocacy programs. After harvest, farmers repay the input value at zero interest. Supplemented by training and advocacy programs, enhanced farmer access to inputs, knowledge, and capital, we emphasize long-term agricultural uplift at the grassroots over multiple cycles, developing self-sustaining farming communities.

INPUTS BEING PROVIDED:

  • Certified seeds

  • Seed treatments

  • Fertilizers

  • Weedicides & pesticides

I also am grateful that you have done the work I should have done to reach out to women in jails, in hostels, and other groups of women who would not traditionally receive anything during Eid. I learned so much from the options you provided. Jazak Allah from the bottom of my heart.
