A computer Lab of 30 computers, with furniture and a backup system, is urgently needed at the SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Lahore in the Boys Section. It will improve educational outcomes for vulnerable children and youth in the direct and indirect care of SOS Children's Villages Pakistan. Access to computers and online learning will develop their ITC skills and provide them with a multitude of online learning opportunities. This in turn will empower them to compete for admission to reputable colleges and technical training institutes. Qualified IT personnel will supervise and maintain the Lab. They will regularly assess progress and report on individual achievements. Any extra help that may be required will also be provided through part-time professionals, usually voluntarily. Computers will also be set up with the English Language software. These will be used during structured language teaching sessions where each child's progress will be monitored. Using the IT lab, SOS aims to provide maximum technical and soft skills to the students, so that they can be a potential resource for their families as well as for society. Quarterly tests will also be conducted by the education committee besides the regular test. The computers, software, and necessary equipment will be purchased after getting three quotations from the vendors, which will be approved by the National Director after analysis.
